Sandwiches / Club Sandwiches Part Two (Engineroom) previews by Pubahs Engineroom label
Detroit Grand Pubahs present the second release on their new Engineroom label, which continues their renovation of the classic ‘Sandwiches’ with part two in this three part series.
The first installment of ‘Sandwiches / Club Sandwiches’ in October, not only featured a fresh 2011 version by the Pubahs but also interpretations from new production duo, Unsubscribe (Dave Clarke and Mr. Jones) and Marc Romboy.
Now part two packs a major punch with a trio of exclusive remixes from Ben Sims.
Currently riding high on the success of his long-awaited debut album, ‘Smoke & Mirrors’ on Drumcode, Ben Sims’ twenty-year musical vocation has seen him travel the globe as a prolific DJ including his current techno night, Machine (with Kirk Degiorgio), host nine influential labels including Theory, Hardgroove, Ingoma and KB Records inc, remix the likes of Jeff Mills, Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer and Kevin Saunderson, as well as host various online radio shows including ‘Way Back Wednesday’ (with Tony Anderson) and ‘Funk You’.
His remixes of ‘Sandwiches’ offer three insights into the different musical styles that Ben Sims has championed. From the tough Chi-groove of his first remix to the aptly titled ‘Acid Remix’, culminating in a collaboration with Paul Mac (Stimulus / Sula Muse) for the slamming drum-led ‘Killa Productions ’91 Revival Remix’, this is one seriously tasty ‘Sandwiches’ triangle!
